Almanacs, 1843-1917 1851-1917.

Consists of annual almanac publications which contain: advertisements; church calendar; reports from various officers and boards of the General Synod; reports from other Lutheran church bodies; listings of Lutheranseminaries; colleges, academies, deaconess motherhouses, missions, orhan homes, hospitals, homes for the aged, and Lutheran periodicals; necrology of Lutheran clergy; and Lutheran clergy roster. Editions for 1852, 1876, 1880, 1887 and 1906 are missing. These almanacs were known under several different titles. It was originally known as "The Lutheran Almanac" from 1843-1879. The title changed to "The Lutheran Almanac and Yearbook" and existed from 1881-1916. In 1917, it was called "The Lutheran Church Annual."
